Design Principles of Active Learning Equipment



The basic principles involved in designing the Active Learning environments are:

· Feedback - The environment must supply strong responses in multiple modes (auditorily, tactilely, visually)

· Support - The child must be supported so as not to be in pain, typically not bearing weight on their legs fully or even partially

· Richness- Related to feedback, the environment must be thick with objects so that minor actions are rewarded with feedback

· Variety - However rich and responsive the environment is, it must be changed periodically- probably more often than we are inclined to think.

All LilliWorks products are approved by Dr. Lilli Nielsen. and most are designed by, or with her.  We are the exclusive North American providers of Dr. Nielsen's specially-designed Active Learning equipment. 

Product Policies

LilliWorks Order Policies

  • Please allow up to 6 weeks for delivery. Items are made upon order by crafts people and may be subject to longer delays (esp. Little Rooms or large orders).
     
  • Items are shipped UPS Ground or USPS Parcel Post. Resonance Boards are shipped Fed Ex.
     
  • Items in saleable condition may be returned within 15 days for a full refund, minus shipping and handling.
     
  • LilliWorks Limited Warranty provides a 1 year period for replacement, repair or refund. See Warranty (below) for details

Privacy Statement

We respect each site visitor's right to personal privacy. To that end we collect and use information throughout our website only as disclosed in the Privacy Policy. This statement applies solely to information collected on this website.

For each visitor to our website our web server automatically recognizes no information regarding the domain or email address.

The information we collect is:

  • used to improve the content of our web page
  • used to notify visitors about updates to our web site
  • never shared with other organizations for commercial purposes.

This site may collect cookies.

In order to use this website, visitors are not required to complete a registration form.

During registration a user must give certain contact information, but we never sell or give away this information. It is only gathered to contact the user about services on our site for which s/he has expressed interest.

If purchasing, a user must provide contact information (such as name, email, address) and possibly financial information (such as credit card number). If we have trouble processing an order we use the information to contact the user. This information is used for shipping and billing purposes to fill customer's orders.

When we transfer and receive certain types of sensitive information, we redirect visitors to a secure server and will notify visitors of this feature.

We publish a newsletter (e-zine) and we never sell or share our subscribers' email addresses.

Warranty Information

1 Year Workmanship Warranty

LilliWorks Active Learning Foundation (“LilliWorks”) equipment are guaranteed for one year from delivery date to be free of workmanship flaws affecting the safety, operation or function of the equipment. Being of handmade craftsman quality, the warranty does not apply to minor blemishes or cosmetic issues.

Due to the inherent nature of wood products, temperature and humidity must be controlled in the environment that any product is used or stored. Temperatures must be maintained within a range of 50°-80° Fahrenheit and relative humidity must be maintained between 25% and 55%. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear.

All LilliWorks equipment are provided with the intent to be used as part of an Active Learning program with proper competent adult supervision. LilliWorks equipment are NOT TOYS, and are specifically designed for therapeutic purposes for those under the developmental age of four, and should not be used by typical learners over the developmental age of four. SECURE ALL EQUIPMENT WHEN NOT IN SUPERVISED USE.

This warranty is void if the product is misused, tampered with, subjected to an accident, improperly stored, or used in a negligent or other manner that is not in accordance with the recommendations set forth above or other written recommendations and/or instructions of LilliWorks . In addition, if the product was repaired or altered by any party not duly authorized by LilliWorks to make such repair or alteration, the warranty will not apply. LilliWorks is not liable for consequential or other damages including, but not limited to, loss, damage, personal injury, or any other expense directly or indirectly arising from the use of, or inability to use its products either separately or in combination with other products. ALL OTHER WARRANTIES EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WHETHER ORAL, WRITTEN OR OTHER FORM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED.

The sole and exclusive remedy under this warranty is limited to replacement or repair of the product or refund in the amount of the original selling price, at the option of LilliWorks.
