Dr. Nielsen's Little Room Dr. Nielsen's Little Room is a core Active Learning environment, providing a resonant, warm, rich and safe place for children to engage. When properly populated with acoustically responsive toys, it naturally feeds back to the child for every movement. Panels are all two-sided, positive-lock and easy to rearrange, providing a fluid, long term interesting environment. Designed over 7 years: Accept no copies. Used on top of a Resonance Board.

Small configuration (LR-2). 2'x2'x2' Suitable for shorter learners (<36"). Reconfigurable to Short configuration. 8 Panels Short configuration (LR-1). 1'x2'x2' Suitable for infant learners only. 5 Panels.
The frame is 18 gauge powder-coated steel with snap-together positive-lock structural plastic connections. Two Play Bars are included. Toys not included.

! Kits are unfinished wood requiring assembly (gluing & screwing), rounding, sanding and finish. Some skills needed.

 Newly designed in conjunction with Dr. Nielsen,  the Scratch, Position and Grab (SPG) Board is a modular extension of fixed Scratch Boards recommended for years with Active Learning. 

Where a typical handmade Scratch Board would have items glued in place and not change, the various items attach to the squares of the SPG Board, and can be easily be reconfigured.  The squares slide on tracks and a spring button retains them. Objects not included.

It is designed to meet the needs of centers, to adjust easily to a number of learner’s needs and skills. .Designed to work with a Support Bench and Tipping Board. Color-coded for 3 levels (scratch, grab & release, grab & hold). The SPG comes with an illustrated article by Dr. Nielsen, showing examples of the 3 layers.12 squares of each color. New!  The Grid Holder is intended to hang light objects in an array over a learner. Though, like the ceiling panels in Dr. Nielsen’s Little Room, it can never replace the full Little Room experience.

This hardwood unit mounts on the wall and has three arms that fold out to hold lightweight hanging objects.  The arms fold down – each arm has a safe “break-away” joint if the learner exerts too much pull.  The standard unit is made out of ½” solid wood.  The WaterProof (WP) version is made out of  acrylic.

Warranty Information

LilliWorks Active Learning Foundation (“LilliWorks”) equipment are guaranteed for one year from delivery date to be free of workmanship flaws affecting the safety, operation or function of the equipment. Being of handmade craftsman quality, the warranty does not apply to minor blemishes or cosmetic issues.

Due to the inherent nature of wood products, temperature and humidity must be controlled in the environment that any product is used or stored. Temperatures must be maintained within a range of 50°-80° Fahrenheit and relative humidity must be maintained between 25% and 55%. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear.

All LilliWorks equipment are provided with the intent to be used as part of an Active Learning program with proper competent adult supervision. LilliWorks equipment are NOT TOYS, and are specifically designed for therapeutic purposes for those under the developmental age of four, and should not be used by typical learners over the developmental age of four. SECURE ALL EQUIPMENT WHEN NOT IN SUPERVISED USE.

This warranty is void if the product is misused, tampered with, subjected to an accident, improperly stored, or used in a negligent or other manner that is not in accordance with the recommendations set forth above or other written recommendations and/or instructions of LilliWorks . In addition, if the product was repaired or altered by any party not duly authorized by LilliWorks to make such repair or alteration, the warranty will not apply. LilliWorks is not liable for consequential or other damages including, but not limited to, loss, damage, personal injury, or any other expense directly or indirectly arising from the use of, or inability to use its products either separately or in combination with other products. ALL OTHER WARRANTIES EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WHETHER ORAL, WRITTEN OR OTHER FORM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED.

The sole and exclusive remedy under this warranty is limited to replacement or repair of the product or refund in the amount of the original selling price, at the option of LilliWorks.
